In a significant shift for gig economy workers, rideshare drivers in Massachusetts will soon receive their fair share from a $175 million restitution package that has emerged from negotiations between Uber, Lyft, and the state Attorney General's Office. Who's Eligible for Compensation?
Eligible drivers — those who worked more than 8 miles per week between July 2020 and July 2024 — can expect checks in the mail in early fall. Of the total, Uber contributes $148 million while Lyft covers $27 million. Rust Consulting, appointed as the settlement administrator, has begun notifying the nearly 70,800 affected drivers.
New Standards Set for Minimum Wage
